Accounts Payable ManagerSalary: $71,000–$85,000Location: Boston, MA (Hybrid – 2 days onsite per week)Why This Opportunity Stands Out:Become the organization’s Workday Accounts Payable expert with significant ownership over the AP functionOpportunity to redesign a decentralized AP process and move toward a more centralized, automated modelPlay an integral role in introducing automation, AI, and machine-learning technology into AP processesManage a reasonable volume of fewer than 100 invoices per week, allowing for greater focus on process improvement and exception resolutionHigh visibility with the Controller, CFO, and broader Finance leadership team37.5-hour workweek with flexibility around scheduling; 8:00–4:00 is idealStrong retirement benefit with a 10% employer contribution to the 403(b) after one yearAccounts Payable Manager Key Responsibilities:Report directly to the Controller and own the full life cycle of Accounts Payable operationsServe as the primary functional expert for the Workday Accounts Payable moduleReview, validate, approve, and process vendor invoices, purchase orders, expense reimbursements, stipends, and other paymentsManage ACH, check, wire, and other payment methods while ensuring timely settlement and accurate accountingMaintain supplier records, support onboarding, and review required tax documentation including W-9sLead resolution of complex payment, supplier, workflow, approval, and compliance issuesGenerate AP reporting and analytics to support reconciliations, month-end close, audits, and operational decision-makingCoordinate annual 1099 review, preparation, validation, and filingMaintain and strengthen AP policies, procedures, internal controls, and audit-ready documentationDevelop training materials and provide Workday/AP support to internal stakeholdersIdentify opportunities to centralize AP, automate manual processes, improve workflows, and enhance Workday functionalityParticipate in Workday testing, upgrades, enhancements, Finance projects, and year-end close activitiesAccounts Payable Manager Qualifications:5–8+ years of progressive Accounts Payable or accounting experienceExtensive, recent Workday Accounts Payable experience required; must know the AP module in depth and be able to serve as the functional expertFull-cycle AP experience including invoice processing, payments, supplier management, reconciliations, expense reimbursements, stipends, and month-end supportExperience with internal controls, audit support, regulatory compliance, W-9s, and 1099 reportingStrong process improvement mindset with the ability to identify inefficiencies and redesign AP workflowsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related fieldStrong communication skills with the ability to partner effectively across all levels of an organization
