Details Level III or IV NICU setting with 77 beds and an average census of 50 Care for neonates ranging from less than 24-28 weeks gestation to greater than 34 weeks Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:30 13-week assignment length Patient ratio of 1:2 Rarely required to admit patients due to a dedicated Admit Nurse role Occasional floating to Issaquah or Edmonds SCN, or to Pediatrics/NBN for newborn care only Block scheduling available for 3 or more consecutive shifts Attends high-risk deliveries and neonatal surgeries Utilizes CPAP/BiPap, high frequency vents, oscillators, and standard ventilators Performs cardioversion/defibrillation and cooling/warming blanket therapy Manages PICC/central lines, feeding tubes, and syringe pumps No ECMO responsibilities Requirements Active WA or compact RN license required BLS and NRP certifications required Minimum 3 years of Level III NICU experience or 2 years of Level IV NICU experience Epic EMR experience preferred Experience with IV therapy and administration of blood/blood products Central line and implanted line care experience Gastrointestinal feeding experience (bottle, breast, gavage) Experience with placement/management of oral, nasogastric, and nasojejunal tubes Proficiency in neonatal dosage calculations and emergency medication administration 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty Additional Information Former Providence-affiliated permanent employees must be separated from the health system for at least 3 months and reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify Travelers are expected to float between facilities within the state, and refusal to float may result in termination of assignment Minimal RTO is accommodated for this position First-time travelers are welcome to apply American Traveler Job ID P-741518.
