COBOL Developer for AI Training

Role Overview
Use your COBOL and mainframe expertise to create high-quality, real-world inputs that train next-generation AI systems. You will analyze legacy COBOL code, extract and document business logic and workflows, and produce accurate annotations and test scenarios that directly shape how models learn, reason, and perform. No prior experience in AI is required; domain expertise in COBOL is the focus.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze and interpret existing COBOL codebases to inform AI training data creation.
- Document COBOL logic, workflows, and business rules clearly and accurately for use by machine learning teams.
- Evaluate sample code and project scenarios, identify edge cases and ambiguities, and provide expert feedback.
- Review and annotate COBOL scripts or pseudo-code to support robust dataset development.
- Design test cases and scenario outlines that reflect real-world COBOL applications.
- Collaborate with project coordinators and other technical experts through clear written and verbal communication.
- Ensure technical accuracy and completeness in all submitted materials to improve AI learning outcomes.
- Required skill: COBOL, with proven experience and deep proficiency in COBOL development across business domains.
- Strong analytical ability to decode complex legacy systems and explain their behavior.
- Demonstrated capability to produce precise, user-friendly technical documentation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to clarity and detail.
- Familiarity with mainframe environments and related tooling is preferred.
- Experience with large-scale migration, integration, or modernization projects is a plus.
- Ability to work autonomously, manage deliverables, and meet project milestones in a remote setting.
