Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for collecting blood specimens for a variety of laboratory tests while utilizing age-appropriate techniques. You will also handle and transport lab specimens and provide post-phlebotomy care to patients.

Unit Details

Shifts Available: Night 5x8-Hour (03:00 - 11:30) or Mid 5x8-Hour (13:30 - 21:30)
Scheduling: Variable shift start times with every other weekend required

Requirements

CPT 1CA License
Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience

Preferred Experience

Previous charge experience
Experience in community hospitals and long-term acute care (LTAC)
Trauma Level I or Level II experience

Skills

Aseptic technique
Blood culture techniques and management
Specimen storage and handling
Ability to identify and respond to emergency situations
Patient education on specimen collection and preservation
Quality assurance and control measures
Proper disposal and labeling of specimens
Competence with various blood collection methods

Patient Care Details

Patient Age Groups: Neonates, Infants, Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
Daily Census: Approximately 120 patients

Compliance and Orientation

Must complete onboarding labs within 3-5 days of contract signing
Seven-year work history verification is required
Orientation involving non-billable modules of approximately 1-5 hours
