Night Custodian

Night Custodian(s)Qualifications:High School Diploma (preferred) or GEDPhysical ability and good health. This may include climbing ladders, bending, twisting, kneeling, and reaching to perform the job duties. Light to moderate lifting (up to 50 lbs) will be required. Use of the proper equipment will be used when necessary.When using equipment and cleaning supplies, knowledge and alertness with regard to safety for themselves and others.Demonstration of potential for growth in all aspects of his/her work.Applicant must be 18 years of age or older.Must be dependable and industrious.Ability and desire to work harmoniously with all staff, co-workers, teachers and administrators.Duties:General cleaning in all areas of all buildings and grounds.Sweep and use appropriate treated dust mops, or wet mops, on floors in all areas.Run floor scrubbers, polishers, sweepers and other cleaning machines.Strip and wax floors, vacuum carpeting.Able to make small repairs on furniture, change glides, replace broken pencil sharpeners.Secure classroom windows and doors after cleaning. Set alarms when scheduled.Dust and polish shelves, furniture, computers and blinds. Wash desks daily.Clean blackboards, wipe down smartboards, wash and keep windows clean.Empty pencil sharpeners and waste baskets daily.Change light bulbs or tubes.Paint walls, etc., shovel snow when necessary.Unload all supplies from trucks if needed.Set up chairs and tables for any group when scheduled.Lock all gates and door at times designated.Do any other jobs assigned by the supervisor.General:Location will vary; 8.5 hours (.5 hour unpaid lunch); M-F 4 p.m. – 12:30 a.m., some day shift and/or weekend mandatory overtime; current pay rate $20.90 with a.50 cent afternoon shift premium; mandatory 90 day probationary period.
