Mid-Level

Position Title: Intermediate Electrician – Data Centers
Department: Project Center – Electrical

Location: Lordstown, Ohio, United States (Project Sites)
Experience Required: 3–6 years of relevant electrical experience

1. OVERVIEW

PSG, a fast-growing construction and infrastructure firm specializing in mission-critical environments, is seeking an experienced Intermediate Electrician to join our team on a high-profile data center construction project in Lordstown, Ohio. This mid-level role performs skilled electrical work in the installation, maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting of power systems in high-reliability data center facilities. The ideal candidate operates with moderate supervision, takes responsibility for specific work packages, and mentors junior team members while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.

This role will initially support a 6-month data center construction project based in Lordstown, Ohio, with a strong pipeline of follow-on projects nationwide. This is not a short-term assignment — upon successful completion of the first project, you will transition directly to subsequent projects, offering long-term career stability and growth.

Success in this role means consistently delivering high-quality work on schedule, maintaining an excellent safety record, successfully leading small teams, and demonstrating readiness to advance toward senior-level responsibilities within 12–18 months.

2. DUTIES

• Skilled Installation & Maintenance: Independently perform installation, modification, and maintenance of electrical distribution systems, UPS, static switches, generators, and associated controls with minimal supervision. Execute work according to design drawings, specifications, and data center reliability requirements.
• Troubleshooting & Testing: Diagnose and repair electrical faults in power distribution, control circuits, and backup systems. Support commissioning, integrated systems testing (IST), and performance verification activities.
• Safety Leadership & Quality: Lead small work teams on assigned tasks while ensuring full compliance with safety and quality standards. Mentor junior electricians on proper techniques, safety practices, and data center protocols.
• Documentation & Coordination: Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and test results. Coordinate with other trades and report progress to supervisors.

3. MUST-HAVES AS THE INTERMEDIATE ELECTRICIAN

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent, plus completed electrical apprenticeship or equivalent vocational training.
• Experience: 3–6 years of relevant electrical experience.
• Licensing: Valid Journeyman Electrician license (or state equivalent certification).
• Technical Knowledge: Strong knowledge of electrical codes (NEC), safety standards (NFPA 70E), and data center power concepts (redundancy, UPS, generators).
• Blueprint Reading: Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and one-line diagrams.
• Soft Skills: Good communication skills and basic leadership ability to guide small teams.
• Physical & Logistics: Physically fit to work in data center environments, with reliable transportation to site. Valid driver's license required.

4. NICE-TO-HAVES AS THE INTERMEDIATE ELECTRICIAN

• Experience working in mission-critical or industrial facilities (data centers preferred).
• Mandarin Chinese language skills (spoken or written) — an advantage for stakeholder coordination.
• Manufacturer certifications on UPS, generator, or switchgear systems.
• Prior experience with commissioning and integrated systems testing.
• Familiarity with Ohio building codes and local construction practices.

6. EXPERIENCE

• 3–6 years of hands-on electrical work experience, with demonstrated ability to work independently on complex installations.
• Experience in industrial, commercial, or mission-critical facilities is highly desirable.
• Proven track record of troubleshooting, testing, and leading small crews.

7. LICENSE / CERTIFICATION

• Required: Valid Journeyman Electrician license (or state equivalent).
• Preferred (Nice-to-Have): Data center or critical facilities training certificates, manufacturer-specific certifications (UPS, generators, switchgear).
• Safety Certifications: OSHA 10/30, NFPA 70E training, CPR/First Aid are strongly recommended; ability to obtain within first 60 days if not already held.

8. ABILITY TO RELOCATE

• Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates.
• This role requires full-time, on-site presence at the Lordstown, Ohio project campus for the initial 6-month assignment. Upon completion, you will transition to follow-on projects nationwide, so flexibility and willingness to relocate to future project sites are essential for long-term career stability.

9. WORK LOCATION

• Primary Location: Lordstown, Ohio, United States (Data Center Construction Campus).
• Initial Assignment: 6-month project based in Lordstown.
• Future Assignments: Nationwide project pipeline with continuity of employment; candidates must be open to travel or relocation to subsequent project sites as the company expands.
