Posting Details Announcement Information Job SummaryThe Center for Information Technology (CIT) at Oberlin College is leading acampus-wide transformation to modernize enterprise systems, streamline digitalworkflows, and expand data-informed decision-making. This transformationincludes the implementation of a new cloud-based ERP system that will reshapeadministrative and academic operations across the College.The IT Business Analyst will join the institution at a pivotal time, workingclosely with departments to reimagine processes, improve data access, andmodernize enterprise applications. Reporting to the Associate Director ofEnterprise Applications, this position plays a key role in ensuring campus-widesystems are responsive, efficient, and aligned with institutional priorities.The analyst manages a portfolio of enterprise applications, including platformssupporting student advising (Anthology Reach), student engagement (Engage),and residential life (StarRez), and helps translate functional needs intoworkflows that improve user experience, reduce risk, and support long-termsuccess.ResponsibilitiesThis role combines business process analysis, data and reporting expertise,application lifecycle management, and technical consulting to support enterpriseapplications relied on by departments including the Registrar, HumanResources, Student Affairs, Finance, Admissions, Financial Aid, AcademicDivisions, and Institutional Effectiveness and Planning (IEP/IR). The ITBusiness Analyst serves as a connector between functional users and technicalteams, ensuring enterprise technology is configured and supported in ways thatdrive institutional effectiveness and student-centered service delivery.This position is on-site, 5 days per week.Essential Job FunctionsBusiness Process Analysis & PlanningCollaborate with campus departments to review, map, and improve business processes supported by enterprise applications.Analyze workflows to identify opportunities for automation, efficiency, and enhanced service delivery.Evaluate vendor solutions and propose system configurations and integrations that align with best practices and institutional needs.Data Analysis, Reporting & GovernanceDevelop and support reporting and dashboards using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Argos, or other platforms.Partner withIEP/IR to support data governance, business data definitions, and quality assurance.Contribute to data-related policies and serve as a liaison to cross- functional data governance groups.Maintain strong data management practices across systems such asAnthology Reach, Engage, and StarRez.Enterprise Application Support & Lifecycle ManagementAct as a subject matter expert for assigned applications, including student engagement, advising, housing, and otherERPcomponents.Plan and coordinate system upgrades, testing, vendor engagement, and release management.Lead or support rollouts of new features and modules that enhance institutional capabilities.Operational Support & End User EnablementProvide front-line support to end users; resolve tickets, troubleshoot issues, and document resolutions.Deliver training, develop documentation, and host workshops to support user adoption.Maintain accurate records of system functionality, workflows, and business use cases.Consulting & Cross-Functional CollaborationProvide consulting services to administrative and academic departments to align systems with business goals.Act as a bridge betweenCITdevelopers, infrastructure teams, and functional stakeholders.Foster collaborative relationships with the Registrar, HR, Finance, Student Affairs, Admissions, and Academic Affairs.Leadership & Continuous ImprovementContribute to cross-campus technology initiatives and process redesign efforts using Agile or hybrid project methodologies.Present findings, insights, and recommendations toCITleadership and institutional partners.Marginal Job FunctionsRequired QualificationsMaintain a growth mindset and pursue professional development in emerging areas such as data lakes, AI tools, and modern reporting frameworks.Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Information Systems, Business Analysis, or a related field.3+ years of experience supporting enterprise applications orERPplatforms (e.g., Banner, Workday, Anthology, OnBase).Strong analytical skills with experience in process mapping, data modeling, or technical documentation.Hands-on experience with visualization tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Argos.Proven ability to translate business requirements into technical configurations.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service orientation.Ability to manage competing priorities, work independently, and contribute to team-based projects.Desired QualificationsExperience in a higher education environment.Familiarity with enterprise software such as Anthology Reach, Engage, StarRez, or similarCRMand student support systems.Understanding of data governance and system integration best practices.Certifications in business analysis, project management, or Agile methodologies preferred.Experience presenting technical and strategic content to a variety of audiences.Experience with Workday software.Quick Link for PostingCompensationWithin the range established for this Administrative and Professional Staff position, salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.Special Instructions to ApplicantsCommitment to Equal Opportunity and Inclusive Excellence:Oberlin College is committed to creating and sustaining a vibrant, welcoming community where all individuals are treated with dignity and respect, and where every member has an equal opportunity to learn, work, and contribute based on their talents, skills, and merit.
