Registered Nurse - Med/Surg Unit
Location: Houston, TX
Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule: Shift: 07:00-19:00
Job Description: The registered nurse will be responsible for providing comprehensive care to patients on a Med/Surg unit. The unit has 14-22 beds, with staffing levels varying based on acuity and census. Collaboration and support among the nursing team is paramount.
Responsibilities:
- Perform typical procedures including cleft palate repair, appendectomies, chest tube management, and lumbar punctures.
- Manage seizure cases and assist in noninvasive cardiology.
- Provide quality patient care in accordance with unit protocols and best practices.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:
- Must have Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is preferred.
