As a Fabrication Technician, you will:

• Build and install custom fixtures, brackets, racks, enclosures, mounts, and structural components on commercial vehicles.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, work instructions, and technical specifications.
• Measure, cut, drill, grind, fit, and assemble steel, aluminum, composites, and other materials with precision.
• Perform vehicle modifications while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and craftsmanship.
• Troubleshoot fabrication and fitment challenges and collaborate with engineering and production teams to develop practical solutions.
• Inspect and verify completed work to ensure compliance with quality and safety requirements.
• Maintain accurate production, quality, and project documentation.
• Contribute ideas that improve manufacturing processes, efficiency, and workplace safety.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Support project-based work, including occasional travel, schedule flexibility, and overtime when required.

• 2+ years of experience in vehicle fabrication, metal fabrication, manufacturing, construction, commercial vehicle upfitting, or a related mechanical environment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, diagrams, and technical documentation.
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, measuring equipment, and fabrication equipment.
• Knowledge of fabrication techniques including cutting, drilling, grinding, fastening, fitting, and assembly.
• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced setting with changing priorities.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical work involving standing, bending, kneeling, and working around commercial vehicles.

• Commercial vehicle upfitting or trailer fabrication experience.
• MIG and/or TIG welding experience.
• Experience with fabrication equipment such as band saws, drill presses, and hydraulic presses.
• Familiarity with electrical or pneumatic system installation.
• Manufacturing or production environment experience.
• Strong measuring and layout skills using tape measures and precision measuring tools.

This is a hands-on fabrication role based primarily in an indoor warehouse environment, with occasional outdoor repair and installation work once vehicles are deployed.

• Approximately 25% travel required.
• Travel typically occurs every 3 to 4 weeks and may range from single-day trips to week-long projects.
• Standard schedule is Monday through Friday, generally 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
• Flexibility for earlier or later start times, overtime, and evolving project schedules is required.
• Regular use of hand tools, power tools, pneumatic equipment, measuring devices, and fabrication machinery.
• Safety-first environment requiring adherence to PPE and safety procedures.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of South San Francisco, CA.

The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $36.00/hr.
