About the Role:The Mental Health Technician (MHT) in a per-diem capacity at Larkin Community Hospital plays a critical role in supporting the mental health care team by providing direct patient care and ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment. This position involves working closely with patients experiencing a range of psychiatric conditions, assisting with daily activities, monitoring patient behavior, and reporting changes to clinical staff.Minimum Qualifications:Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.Ability to pass background checks and drug screening as required by the hospital.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Crisis and Intervention Training requiredMust pass in-house MHT testPreferred Qualifications:Previous experience working in an inpatient psychiatric or behavioral health facility.Additional certifications related to mental health care or crisis intervention.Bilingual language skills relevant to the patient population served.
