About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Profession: Nursing Specialty: Med Surg/Telemetry Stepdown Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Five plus (5) years of direct RN experience License: Current RN License Certifications: BLS Certification, ACLS Certification Must-Have: Experience in a cardiac telemetry department, including TAVR, watchman's device, mitral clips, heart catheterizations, preop/post-op open heart, cardiac IV and PO management, cardiac drips, anticoagulants, CHF, chest pain, arrhythmias, NSTEMI, STEMI, PE, post-op CABG, Sepsis, pneumonia, stroke management, and TR band/groin management. Description: The Registered Nurse (RN) protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities. This role involves the prevention of illness and injury, and the alleviation of suffering through diagnosis and treatment of human responses. Advocacy in the care of individuals and families is essential. The RN is responsible and accountable for compliance with all standards of practice and professional development. This includes adherence to policies and regulations as per the Nurse Practice Act and professional ethical standards. The RN creates a caring and healing environment for patient-centered care. Job responsibilities encompass assessing, planning, delegating, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating nursing care. The RN will manage a group of patients, serving as a primary nurse or accountable nurse as designated. Patient and family education in health promotion and disease management is a key component. Utilization of pharmacological knowledge to safely administer medications is required. Sharing in the responsibility for productivity and effective resource utilization is expected. Compliance with all nursing practice standards and regulatory requirements is necessary. Participation in nursing governance and improvement initiatives is expected. Engagement in professional development and continuing education is mandatory. Integration of nursing research and current evidence into daily practice is essential.
