Our IT infrastructure team supports a broad enterprise environment where resilient systems, disciplined modernization, and strong cross-functional partnership are essential to day-to-day operations. 2. The Opportunity We are seeking a hands-on Senior System Admin to strengthen uptime, resiliency, and lifecycle ownership across ABG's enterprise systems environment. This role will work across a 300+ server, 16-domain estate and help move the organization from reactive administration toward a more standardized, recoverable, secure, and automated operating model. The right person will be equally comfortable troubleshooting a production issue, validating a restore, improving patching discipline, automating repetitive work, and coordinating a complex upgrade with cybersecurity and application teams. 3. Success in Year One Improve uptime and resiliency through disciplined incident ownership, patching, lifecycle management, and preventive follow-through. Establish strong Veeam backup ownership, including recurring restore validation and practical alignment with 3-2-1 backup principles. Increase patch compliance, visibility, and consistency through better automation and expanded use of systems-management tooling such as ManageEngine. Advance priority server upgrades and consolidation work while protecting critical application dependencies. Create a dependable operating partnership with cybersecurity for vulnerability remediation, hardening, and infrastructure risk reduction. Communicate clearly during changes, incidents, and cross-functional infrastructure work. 4. The Mandate Own the day-to-day health, availability, and lifecycle of enterprise Windows server infrastructure. Administer and troubleshoot VMware, Veeam, Azure, and multi-domain systems in a complex production environment. Drive operating-system patching, lifecycle planning, upgrades, and remediation of aging or unsupported systems. Own backup operations and recovery readiness, including restore testing and validation of critical systems. Use PowerShell or comparable automation to reduce manual effort, improve consistency, and strengthen operational control. Use and help expand ManageEngine capabilities where appropriate for patching, reporting, monitoring, inventory, workflow, or automation. Partner with cybersecurity on vulnerabilities, hardening, remediation, and incident response. Coordinate infrastructure changes with application owners, SAP stakeholders, business units, vendors, and other IT teams. 5. Improved patch/lifecycle visibility, incident follow-through, and reduced preventable risk. 2 Critical backups are demonstrably recoverable. Recurring Veeam restore testing and clear closure of backup coverage gaps. 3 Administration becomes more standardized and automated. Reduced repetitive work and stronger tool-based visibility and control. 4 Legacy risk and modernization work move forward without avoidable disruption. Priority upgrades/migrations completed with dependency mapping and rollback discipline. 5 Security and infrastructure operate as shared partners in resilience. Timely vulnerability remediation, clear escalation, and traceable ownership. 6. Modernization must happen while protecting uptime; some workloads may require nonstandard upgrade or migration paths. The role requires breadth across operations, recovery, patching, cloud, automation, and security rather than specialization in only one area. Success depends on both technical depth and the ability to communicate calmly and precisely across teams during high-impact changes and incidents. 7. Professional Profile Hands-on infrastructure professional who takes ownership of system health rather than waiting for tickets or escalation. Strong troubleshooting judgment and comfort working through production incidents end-to-end. Practical builder mindset: able to standardize, automate, document, and improve an existing environment without needing perfect conditions first. Collaborative partner who can translate technical risk, tradeoffs, and status for both technical and business stakeholders. 8. Experience Requirements Strong hands-on Windows Server administration experience in a sizable enterprise environment. Production VMware experience and hands-on Veeam backup/recovery ownership, including successful restore testing or recovery events. Azure administration or operations experience in a hybrid infrastructure environment. Experience with multi-domain environments, application dependencies, operating-system upgrades, and server lifecycle management. Demonstrated ownership of patching, incident response, and recovery readiness. PowerShell or comparable infrastructure automation experience. Experience partnering with cybersecurity on vulnerability remediation, hardening, or infrastructure risk reduction. Clear written and verbal communication during planned changes and service-impacting events. Helpful, but not required Exposure to SQL, TSM library, Parallels RAS, 10ZiG, Office 365, or ServiceDesk Plus. 9.
