Human Resources Business Partner (People Partner)

Location: Holmdel, NJ or Melville, NY (Hybrid)

Schedule: Full-Time - Hybrid (3 - 4 days onsite)

Travel: Regular travel to offices across NY, NJ, and Eastern PA

Compensation: $90,000- $110,000 base + bonus

About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and hands-on Human Resources Business Partner (People Partner) . This role supports Mid-Atlantic offices while also contributing to firmwide HR initiatives. The ideal candidate brings strong HR generalist experience, sound judgment, and the ability to operate as a trusted advisor to both employees and leadership.

This position blends strategic partnership with day-to-day execution across employee relations, performance management, compliance, onboarding, and HR operations. The role requires consistent in-office presence and regular regional travel to support local teams.

Key Responsibilities

Talent Acquisition & Onboarding

• Support onboarding and orientation to ensure a seamless new hire experience
• Partner with leadership and resource management to identify hiring needs
• Support campus recruiting initiatives and local recruiting events as needed
• Assist with new hire integration and retention strategies

Employee Relations & Performance Management

• Serve as a trusted HR advisor to employees and managers
• Address employee concerns, mediate conflicts, and support investigations
• Support performance management processes including goal setting, reviews, and PIPs
• Guide leaders on employee relations best practices and documentation

Compliance & Policy Management

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
• Support employee separations with discretion and professionalism
• Assist with policy interpretation, application, and updates

HR Operations & Systems

• Maintain accurate employee records within HRIS (Workday preferred)
• Generate HR reports and support data-driven decision-making
• Ensure consistency and accuracy across HR processes

Culture, Engagement & Development

• Support employee engagement, inclusion, and culture initiatives
• Partner with Learning & Development to identify training needs
• Promote firm-wide programs, events, and change initiatives

Strategic HR Partnership

• Collaborate with recruiting, total rewards, resource management, and L&D teams
• Provide HR insights to support workforce planning and organizational change
• Contribute to continuous improvement of HR programs and processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
• 3+ years of HR generalist or HR business partner experience
• Professional services or public accounting experience strongly preferred
• Working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
• Experience with HRIS systems (Workday preferred)
• PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills
• High level of discretion, professionalism, and sound judgment
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment
