JOB SUMMARY:

The PA practices under supervising physicians in the BMH Physician Practices to evaluate patients in the office setting and, in some instances, in the nursing homes. The PA treats both acute and chronic problems. The scope of problems encountered by the PA is the same as those dealt with by the supervising physicians in the practices. Requirements

EDUCATION:

Certification/degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.

EXPERIENCE/SKILL SETS:

Two years of PA experience in a primary care practice, or a relevant specialty practice preferred.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION(S):

Current licensure as a PA-C by the State of Vermont. Certifications as an adult or family Physician Assistant by a national organization, which is recognized by the Vermont State Board of Medical Practice. Qualified to be credentialed by the BMH Medical Staff. Healthcare Provider CPR certification. DEA license.

OSHA CATEGORY:

OSHA Category I - Tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues require use of techniques of Universal Precautions as evidenced with blood borne pathogens standards

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
