Staff Pharmacist Part Time

Role Summary As a Staff Pharmacist at CVS Health, you will lead and direct the pharmacy team, manage patient care, and ensure safe, compliant operations. You’ll act as a proxy for the Pharmacy Manager, support inventory, deliver immunizations, and provide clinical care to improve patient outcomes. Responsibilities Help manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices. Oversee the pharmacy as the Pharmacy Manager’s proxy during bench shifts, strengthen performance measures, coach staff, and provide feedback to the manager. Assume the Pharmacy Manager’s day‑to‑day duties when serving as the primary pharmacist‑on‑duty. Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following pharmacy workflow procedures and utilizing safety guardrails at every workstation. Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy, coaching the team, collaborating with the patient’s total healthcare team, and proactively resolving insurance and medication issues. Proactively offer and deliver immunizations, engaging and supporting Pharmacy Technicians to learn to immunize. Manage pharmacy inventory by following best practices, especially protecting cold‑chain products. Ensure operations comply with state Board of Pharmacy regulations, escalating concerns to the manager or Rx DL as needed. Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs, support the team dynamic, and write the pharmacy schedule when directed. Maintain relevant clinical and technical skills through required trainings, CMEs, and continuous learning. Support access to care and improve outcomes through pharmacist‑delivered clinical care (e.g., COVID/Flu, hormonal contraception) where permissible, and empower the team to provide holistic care. Comply with all federal and state laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles; follow CVS Health policies, controlled substance dispensing, recordkeeping, and patient privacy safeguards. Required Qualifications Active Pharmacist License in the state where the Store is located Active National Provider Identifier (NPI) Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list Essential Functions Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends. Complete required training within designated timeframe. Attention and focus: concentrate on tasks, pivot quickly between tasks. Confirm prescription information and label accuracy to ensure patient safety. Customer service and team orientation: help others kindly and understand patient reactions. Communication skills: use and understand verbal and written communication; actively listen; ask questions. Mathematical reasoning: calculate total tablets, day’s supply, bottle quantities. Issue resolution: identify challenging interactions and choose best course of action. Physical Demands Mobile and remain upright for extended periods; lift, scan, bag items; reach overhead; stretch; pick, pinch, type; move hand and arm repetitively; adjust machines; stoop; maintain vision for small details; lift up to 20 lbs., frequently up to 10 lbs.; express ideas orally; receive detailed information orally. Preferred Qualifications 1‑2 years of related work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting. Ability to work in other locations across the market as business needs require. Pay Range Typical range: $60.00 – $76.00 per hour (base). Pay varies by experience, education, geography, and other factors.
