Job Summary Location: Methodist Physicians Clinic – Gretna, NE (11946 Standing Stone Drive) Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm Sign‑on bonus: $2,500. Responsibilities Essential Functions (Floor and Phone) Medical Home: Document all lab procedures and appointments on tracking forms; complete follow‑up for missed appointments and procedures; assist Health Coaches with patient lists and scheduling. Patient and family education: Provide education to ensure adequate knowledge and recommend community resources as needed (98% of the time). Telephone triage: Determine patient needs, record and report condition to provider, advise patients, return calls within 90minutes (95% of the time), and accurately record patient condition according to policy (98% of the time). Maintain work areas: Clean and organize equipment and rooms to ensure healthy environmental conditions (99% of the time). Prescription renewals: Facilitate patient care by discussing questions with provider and relaying information to pharmacy; handle refills according to protocols (99% of the time). Age‑specific patient care: Provide appropriate care to ensure understanding and comfort as outlined in the “Age Specific Criteria.” Floor Prepare exam rooms and equipment, set up instruments, and stock supplies (95% of the time). Prepare patient for provider exam: Review records, weigh, check vitals, perform medication reconciliation, and obtain relevant information (95% of the time). Assist providers by retrieving tests, records, lab work, and other requested materials (95% of the time). Dispense medications as directed; instruct patients and families on medication use. Perform phlebotomy with proper labeling, handling, and documentation (95% of the time). Ensure accuracy of order entry and complete documentation without error (≥98% of the time). Phone Answering Phone Calls: Answer according to protocol (≥98% of the time). Returning Phone Messages: Return messages according to protocol (≥98% of the time). Providing Test Results: Provide results according to protocol (≥99% of the time). Pharmacy Refills: Accurately complete pharmacy requests (100% of the time). Job Requirements Education Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (required). Minimum 6 months of experience (preferred). Licenses & Certifications Current valid Registered Nurse (RN) license or a valid compact multistate license. Temporary permit while awaiting licensure (acceptable). American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) – strongly preferred at hire, required within 3 months of hire. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – preferred. Skills / Knowledge / Abilities Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures. Knowledge of medicine, including recognition and diagnosis of diseases, deformities, and other illnesses. Effective time‑management and prioritization skills. Proficient computer typing to capture or detail information quickly. Ability to provide caring patient care services when communicating with patients and families. Critical listening skills to capture questions from patients and information from providers and convey it effectively. Problem‑solving skills to anticipate, recognize, and resolve problems before they worsen. Flexibility to adapt to daily activities. Ability to learn and navigate patient‑information computer programs efficiently. Strong verbal communication skills for positive interaction with providers, staff, and patients. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions or directions. Physical Requirements Weight demands: Medium. Work – Exert up to 50 pounds of force. Occasional physical activity (1%–33%): Climbing, crawling, kneeling, sitting. Frequent physical activity (34%–66%): Balancing, carrying, crouching, distinguishing colors, keyboarding/typing, lifting, pulling/pushing, repetitive motions, stooping/bending, twisting. Constant physical activity (67%–100%): Grasping, hearing, reaching, seeing/visual, speaking/talking, standing (floor only), walking (floor only), sitting (phone only). Job Hazards Electrical shock/Static radiation: Non‑ionizing (ultraviolet, visible light, infrared, microwaves). Rare (1%–33%): Radiation alpha, beta, gamma particles. Occasional (34%–66%): Equipment/machinery/tools explosives (pressurized gas). Physical hazards: noise, temperature, lighting, wet floors, outdoors, sharps (more than ordinary office environment). Frequent (67%–100%): Biological agents, blood or body fluid (BBF), chemical agents (toxic, corrosive, flammable, latex), mechanical moving parts/vibrations.
