Key Responsibilities of the Property Accountant Prepare and review consolidated financial statements for multiple entities and partnerships. Manage intercompany transactions, eliminations, and related reconciliations. Support month‑end close activities, including journal entries, balance‑sheet reconciliations, and variance analysis. Assist with budgeting, expense analysis, and financial performance monitoring across properties. Support audits, maintain internal controls, and collaborate with leadership on process improvements. Qualifications for the Property Accountant Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 1.5–3 years of accounting experience; property or real estate accounting strongly preferred. Strong Excel skills and experience with accounting systems; Yardi experience strongly preferred.
