Make a lasting impact as a contract Special Education Teacher, working with a welcoming group of 6th-8th grade students in a supportive middle school environment. This opportunity features a manageable caseload of seven students and access to Instructional Assistant support, ensuring you have the resources you need to focus on individualized learning and growth. With consistent full-time hours (37.5 per week, up to 40 hours for planning), you’ll have both structure and time for thorough lesson preparation to create engaging, effective learning experiences.

Desired Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification (state-appropriate or eligible for reciprocity)
• Experience teaching students in grades 6-8, ideally in a special education or resource setting
• Strong commitment to fostering an inclusive, positive classroom environment
• Ability to develop and modify IEPs, document progress, and work collaboratively with IAs and related services
• Excellent communication skills for engaging with parents, colleagues, and support staff

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver tailored instruction to a caseload of seven middle school students, providing differentiated strategies and support
• Collaborate with your Instructional Assistant and general education staff to facilitate engaging, accessible lessons
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs and ensure documentation is up to date
• Participate in IEP meetings and communicate regularly with families to support each student’s academic and personal growth
• Create a safe, nurturing classroom in which students are encouraged to achieve their fullest potential
