Lead Field Quality in Austin, TX

Step onto complex civil, industrial, petrochemical, and concrete jobsites and set the standard for quality. As our Construction Quality Assurance Field Manager in Austin, you’ll provide real-time leadership on the ground—guiding crews, verifying compliance, and ensuring safe, efficient, and high‑quality installation from first layout through closeout.

A day in this role

You arrive on site, review the latest plans, specs, RFIs, and submittals, then walk the work with superintendents and foremen. You spot a tolerance issue on a foundation embed, coach the crew on the fix, and document the corrective action. Next, you align the day’s work plans, confirm SLAM/THA briefings, and verify equipment inspections. By afternoon, you’re validating concrete formwork and rebar before the pour, checking utilities trench grades with a builder’s level, logging production and hours on your iPad (HCSS), and closing the loop on any deficiencies before tomorrow’s activities.

What you’ll own

• On-site QA leadership: perform walk-throughs and inspections; call out and communicate issues in safety, quality, schedule, or execution as they arise.
• Technical guidance: translate plans/specifications and train craft teams in safe, efficient installation methods across civil and concrete scopes.
• Daily coordination: develop crew work plans; complete daily reports, hour/production tracking, and safety documentation (SLAM, THA, briefings); confirm equipment inspections.
• Field operations oversight: supervise safe equipment use; guide sitework (water/sewer/storm/grading) and concrete operations from forming to post‑pour review.
• Verification and records: complete quality documentation; confirm work meets plans, specs, and tolerances using company technology (iPads, HCSS, etc.).
• Progress and resources: monitor productivity, materials, equipment, and costs; coordinate deliveries and escalate issues to leadership promptly.
• Quality systems: develop/enforce Quality and Inspection Plans; maintain records from preconstruction through closeout; track deficiencies and corrective actions.

What you bring

• 15 years of experience preferred in field quality or leadership (Quality Assurance Specialist, Site Manager, Superintendent, Foreman, Concrete Superintendent, or similar).
• Class B CDL.
• Deep concrete expertise: forming, rebar, anchor bolts, embedded items, walls, footings, mass foundations, elevated decks with shoring, placement, finishing, curing, and inspections.
• Solid civil/sitework knowledge: grading, underground utilities, pipe installation, structures, sequencing, and construction site safety.
• Strong with transits, builder’s levels, grade lasers, and field layout fundamentals; GPS/total station experience a plus (not required).
• Ability to read and interpret DOT‑style drawings, specifications, addenda, schedules, and step‑by‑step action plans.
