Grain Facility Superintendent

Overview CGB Enterprises, Inc., founded in 1969, is a leader in the grain and transportation industries with over 100 locations and nearly 2,000 U.S. employees. This position supports the success of our Louisiana facility by leading grain operations, developing the team, and ensuring consistent execution across safety, quality, and logistics. Responsibilities Supervise employees in all activities for all applicable operations at the assigned location (e.g., grain and terminal, soybean plant). Drive location results, working with management to optimize profitability, develop benchmarks, report on results, and implement improvement plans. Lead, direct, and communicate the company’s safety program, schedule monthly safety meetings, set goals, and conduct safety audits. Ensure compliance with OSHA, company safety, and environmental regulations, including proper PPE usage and environmental controls. Collaborate with the management team to develop and adjust budget forecasts. Oversee staffing and job development activities, including hiring, scheduling, training, coaching, performance management, promotions, and terminations. Schedule and manage Barge/Rail/Grain Inspectors as needed. Conduct quality internal audits, review and modify PSM & MOC as required. Coordinate with departmental staff (e.g., Marine Services, Merchandisers, CTLC) to support loading and transfer needs. Participate in the trainee program, coaching trainees through their curriculum. Perform additional duties as assigned, including walk‑throughs, inventory monitoring, maintenance needs, and housekeeping. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent training and work experience. Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture or Technical Systems Management. Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in various aspects of the specific business unit. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Understanding of location cost structures, mix and blend analysis, safety, efficiency, product quality, preventive maintenance, OSHA, EPA, logistics (carry, interest, freight, FOB and CIF marketing/sales). Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Effective leadership, interpersonal, oral and written communication, decision‑making, conflict management, trouble‑shooting, problem‑solving, time management, and organizational skills. Mechanical skills and ability to coach, mentor, and lead staff. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Physical Demands & Requirements Work can be both inside and outside, with exposure to heat, cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Stressors include bending, stooping, twisting, kneeling, squatting, climbing stairs and ladders, lifting/pushing/pulling up to 50 lbs., operating in confined spaces, and working extended hours, weekends, holidays, or alternate shifts. Environmental conditions may require the use of PPE, and travel up to 15% is anticipated. Compensation Expected base pay range: $69,490.00 – $91,433.00 (actual pay may vary based on location, experience, and qualifications).
