SEO Scholars is a free, eight-year, academic program that transforms public high school students in New York City, San Francisco, North Carolina, and Miami into college graduates. SEO Scholars successfully educates and mentors students to and through college. 100% of Scholars are accepted into four-year colleges, 85% of Scholars graduate with a Bachelor's degree, and 80% are first-generation college graduates.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Manager, Recruitment leads the execution and continuous improvement of a strategic, data-driven recruitment and admissions cycle. This role partners closely with the Associate Director, Assistant Director, and Program Managers across the HS Scholars NY team to build and sustain a robust pipeline that results in a competitive and diverse class of 9th grade Scholars each year. As the primary point of contact for recruitment, the Manager, Recruitment drives outreach strategy, cultivates key partnerships, and ensures operational excellence across all stages of the admissions process.

- The typical weekly schedule is as follows:
- Fall Term: Tuesday through Saturday (3x a month); Monday through Friday (1x month)
- Spring Term: Tuesday through Saturday (3x a month); Monday through Friday (1x month)
- Summer Term: Monday through Friday
- In-person attendance is required for all Saturday programming dates at the following locations (subject to change):

Recruitment, Partnership & Admissions
- Execute comprehensive recruitment and pipeline strategies aligned to organizational goals by identifying and cultivating sources to attract high-quality applicants.
- Recommend and implement innovative approaches to strengthen recruitment outcomes.
- Build new relationships and manage existing relationships with school and community partners.
- Plan and deliver recruitment presentations, workshops, and information sessions.
- Maintain thorough documentation of all outreach and engagement efforts to ensure team alignment.
- Oversee admissions process by reviewing student applications, recommending candidates for interviews, and facilitating team deliberation sessions to finalize scholar selection.
- Ensure a smooth and equitable admissions process from application through acceptance.
- Track, analyze, and report on key metrics throughout the recruitment cycle to internal and external stakeholders including staff, applicants, and program partners.
- Manage Salesforce database and other systems to ensure accurate tracking toward recruitment and admissions goals.
- Oversee admissions communications to ensure accurate and timely notifications to applicants and families.
- Manage event logistics for Interview Days and other recruitment initiatives.
- Recommend and implement improvements to data and systems each cycle to ensure efficient and effective practices.
- Maintain accurate program data to inform Scholar support and program planning.
- Generate weekly reports to support Program Managers in Scholar advising.
- Track and analyze intervention efforts to support continuous improvement in 9th grade Scholar success.
- Ensure timely distribution of progress reports, report cards, and other key Scholar materials.
- Step in to facilitate programming when needed
- Bachelor's degree required.
- 3+ years of experience in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial organization or company.
- Experience working directly with youth required.
- Demonstrated track record of successfully executing recruitment processes, with experience using online recruiting and data management tools, including Salesforce.
- Demonstrated passion for closing the opportunity and academic achievement gap for students at the high school and college level.
- Data-driven and results-oriented, with an unquestionable commitment to high quality work.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including an ability to clearly and effectively present content in a public forum, engage in active listening, and command the attention of large groups of students.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to build professional relationships and deliver constructive, honest and productive feedback to Scholars and family members.
- Demonstrated track record of successfully managing multiple ongoing projects, with the ability to self-motivate and work independently toward programmatic goals when needed.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel, analysis, and reporting skills with an affinity towards data-driven outcomes.
- Bilingual Spanish/English is highly preferred; other languages skills are welcome!
