Mechanical Exchange Technician ICorporate Headquarters - Charlotte, NC 28278## OverviewPosition TypeFull TimeTravel PercentageNone## DescriptionPrimary Purpose and Function:The primary purpose of this position is to evaluate and repair defective units in a timely manner and maintain adequate inventory while meeting the needs of our customers.Responsibilities:* Inspect and identify incoming units* Disassemble and failure analysis/diagnosis* Clean, inspect and prep units for repair* Assist technicians as required* Install and Remove units from the simulator* Shop floor/Inventory control* Maintain organized, clean and safe work area (5S)* Work collaboratively with other departments* Assist technicians as required## Qualifications* High school diploma, vocational certificate or equivalent experience (1-3 yrs. mechanical experience)* Strong mechanical ability, average mathematical ability and basic electrical skills* Ability to interpret mechanical assembly and parts drawings* Proficient use of electrical and mechanical devices such as, precision measuring equipment, multimeters, etc.* Strong attention to detail and capable of solving product technical problems* Must work well independently as well as on a team* Basic computer skills including Microsoft OfficePreferred:* Ability to operate forklift and crane* Basic operation of manual machine shop equipment (lathe, grinder etc.)* Machine maintenance or previous mechanical assembly/rebuilding experience* Experience with Bill of Material (BOM) research
