Certified Arborist
Maple Plain, MN | Full-time, year-round | $40 to $49 an hour
Join the field crew as the certified arborist on city and municipal tree contracts, plus residential and commercial pruning and removals across the Twin Cities west metro. Your ISA certification is what qualifies these crews for public work, and this company pays for it.
About the company
Family-owned tree care company serving the west metro since 1933. About 25 people work here year-round out of one shop in Maple Plain. The team is built on safety, quality work and promoting from within. No storm chasing.
Pay and benefits
- $40 to $49 an hour, based on experience
- Up to $8,000 sign-on bonus
- Monthly production incentive of up to $300

Schedule
- Year-round, full-time work
- About 40 hours a week in winter, 45 to 50 in summer
- Monday to Friday, done at noon on Fridays, no weekends
- Crews start at 7 a.m. from the Maple Plain shop
What you'll do
- Serve as the certified arborist on crews working city and municipal contracts: boulevard trees, parks and utility properties
- Prune and remove trees on residential and commercial properties
- Work from a climbing system, bucket truck or Nifty Lift, depending on the job
- Rig and lower limbs and wood safely
- Check job sites for hazards, including power lines, before work starts
- Handle basic maintenance on chainsaws, hand saws and skid steers
Equipment
Grapple saw crane, Nifty Lifts, bucket trucks and articulating skid steers. Brush pile and fuel on site, so no waiting in line to dump or fill up.
What you need
- Active ISA Certified Arborist credential
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Able to lift 75 lbs to shoulder height
- Comfortable working at height
- Able to pass a pre-employment drug test
- Safety-minded, mechanically inclined and a good teammate
Nice to have
- Climbing experience, including DRT and SRT
- Class A CDL
- Crew leadership experience
- Pesticide applicator license (Category A, E)
