Role Overview The Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) provides interdisciplinary care for patients with a variety of serious medical conditions in a technologically advanced environment. The MICU is a closed unit run by pulmonary/critical care specialist physicians and patients are frequently on ventilators and receiving vasopressor support. There are 6 Critical Care Intensivists: a resident team, each led by an attending who specializes in Pulmonary Critical Care Medicine. Daily multidisciplinary rounds at bedside to discuss patient plans of care. The role of an ICU/CCU RN is to provide care to critical patients/complex surgical patients requiring, but not limited to, cardiac monitoring, invasive lines, ventilators, and critical care pharmacology medications. In this role you will provide quality care to our inpatients on an 8-bed ICU that cares for cardiac, respiratory and surgical day patients. In this fast-paced environment you will assess, plan, implement and document patient care, communicate effectively with patients, families and other health team members, and implement core measures as indicated for patients on this unit. Applicants should possess excellent communication, assessment, documentation and interpersonal skills, and demonstrate the ability to prioritize as well as a commitment to work with a culturally diverse population. Qualifications & Experience Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a current MA RN License Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree preferred 2 years current ICU critical care RN experience preferred Current AHA or ARC BLS & ACLS certifications required CCRN certification preferred Please note that the final offer may vary within the listed Pay Range based on a candidate's experience, skills, qualifications, and internal equity considerations.
