Role: IT Director

A highly respected institutional investment organization managing over $40 billion in assets is seeking an IT Director to lead technology strategy, innovation, and execution across the firm.

The organization invests across a diversified portfolio spanning private equity, venture capital, hedge funds, real assets, and public markets. Having doubled in size over the past five years, it continues to invest heavily in its people, technology, and operational capabilities.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director of Operations, the IT Director will serve as the senior technology leader and strategic partner to both investment and operations teams. This role offers a rare opportunity to shape the future-state technology vision of a sophisticated investment platform, with significant greenfield opportunities across infrastructure, applications, data, automation, and AI.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the firm's overall technology strategy, ensuring alignment with business and investment objectives.
• Serve as the primary technology advisor to executive leadership and key stakeholders throughout the organization.
• Evaluate, implement, and optimize modern technology solutions, with a particular focus on AI, automation, and operational efficiency.
• Lead technology architecture, infrastructure, cloud, cybersecurity, business continuity, and disaster recovery initiatives.
• Partner closely with investment professionals to identify and deliver technology solutions that enhance decision-making and operational effectiveness.
• Drive modernization efforts and establish scalable processes, standards, and governance frameworks.
• Manage technology vendors, budgets, and strategic technology partnerships.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing IT team while fostering a culture of service, innovation, and accountability.

Ideal Background

• 10+ years of progressive IT leadership experience.
• Proven success defining IT strategy and technology roadmaps within financial services environments.
• Experience working within asset management, private equity, venture capital, hedge funds, endowments, investment offices, or broader capital markets organizations.
• Strong understanding of enterprise applications, infrastructure, cybersecurity, cloud technologies, data platforms, and emerging AI capabilities.
• Demonstrated ability to operate in lean, high-performing environments where strategic thinking and hands‑on execution are equally important.
• Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience partnering directly with senior executives and business leaders.
• Track record of leading transformational initiatives and building technology capabilities from the ground up.
