About the Position

Job Title: Sonographer Profession: Healthcare Specialty: Pediatrics Duration: 26 Weeks Shift: 8 Hours Hours per Shift: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Experience: Minimum of 1 year in pediatric sonography License: BLS required Certifications: ARDMS required, Registry in Pediatric Echocardiography preferred, Fetal Echo encouraged, Adult echo a plus Description: Must have a minimum of 1 year of experience in pediatric sonography. Knowledge and experience with ECMO procedures are required to assist with bedside ECMO weans and catheter placement. An extensive understanding of congenital and unusual forms of non-congenital heart disease is necessary. Echocardiographic studies will be performed within the complete spectrum of diagnoses seen in fetal congenital heart disease (22+ weeks), pediatric heart disease, as well as adult congenital echocardiography. Coverage will include NICU, PICU, and Cardiac ICU. Job duties include recognizing and triaging emergent situations. Providing written communication to cardiologists is expected. Maintenance of equipment is essential. Logging of procedures is necessary. Familiarity with EMR/PACS systems, such as Epic and PACS, is required. The equipment used includes Phillips Floor machines. Scrubs will be Caribbean Blue.
