2nd Shift CNC Machinist

Position 2nd Shift CNC Operation Responsibilities Read and interpret blueprints, program readouts, and technical directives to determine materials and cutting tools, and visualize part dimensions and tolerances. Complete machine set‑ups and follow detailed instructions for machine operations, feeds, speeds, and tooling. Align parts in the machine according to prescribed methods and reference points, keeping fixtures and machine stops clear of chips. Recognize and correct defective tooling, improper coolant flow, or machine malfunctions using adjustment or by obtaining assistance from a higher‑level machinist. Use measuring instruments such as internal and external micrometers, height and depth gauges, indicators, and snap or ring gauges to achieve and maintain critical dimensions and tolerances. Skills and Abilities Ability to learn specific computer software and systems. Knowledge of trade mathematics. Multi‑task and engage in related activities to maximize productivity. Work: Monday through Thursday, 3:30 PM – 1:30 AM. Physical Demands Frequent standing, walking, sitting, reaching, and handling of materials up to 25 pounds, occasionally up to 40 pounds. Requires proper lift assistance for objects over 40 pounds. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment. Work Environment Exposure to moving mechanical parts, wet or humid conditions, fumes, chemicals, electrical shock, vibration, and loud noise levels.
