Department Information
The Office of Disability Services collaborates with students, faculty, and staff to create a campus environment that ensures all students have an equal opportunity to access the Georgia Tech community. If students encounter academic, physical, technological, or other barriers on campus, the Disability Services team collaborates with the student to find creative solutions and reasonable accommodation.

Job Summary

Assist the Director-Disability Services in delivering services and programs to students. Evaluate and interpret student disability history and documentation to coordinate the provision of appropriate accommodations. Coordinate support services for note taking and alternate formatting and classroom space accessibility. Meet with assigned case load of students on an on-going basis. Serve on Institute wide committees to advise on policies effecting students with disabilities. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: faculty, staff, students, parents, alumni, and community members. This position will typically advise and counsel: same as above. This position will supervise: N/A.

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -
Duties may include but are not limited to: Evaluate and interpret student disability history and documentation to coordinate the provision of appropriate accommodations.

Job Duty 2 -
Coordinate support services for note taking and alternate formatting and classroom space accessibility.

Job Duty 3 -
Meet with assigned case load of students on an on-going basis to assist and make appropriate referrals for academic and non-academic issues to enhance overall student development.

Job Duty 4 -
Maintain current working knowledge of assistive technology and make recommendations for new acquisitions.

Job Duty 5 -
Assist in disability related programming and campus educational and assessment initiatives.

Job Duty 6 -
Perform other duties as assigned Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Higher Education, Counseling or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience

Other Required Qualifications
Preferable experience working with individuals/ students with developmental disabilities; prefer experience in a university environment; flexibility in on-site daily service delivery hours.
