As a Utility Pole Assessment Foreman , you will lead field operations, support crew development, and ensure utility pole assessment projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to company standards.

Our Utility Pole Assessment career path provides a clear opportunity for growth and advancement:
Foreman Apprentice I (FA1): $24.50/hour Begin your career with Osmose through a structured 5-week practical training period focused on learning utility assessment processes, safety procedures, field operations, and leadership fundamentals.
Foreman Apprentice II (FA2): $26.00/hour Continue developing your technical skills, field knowledge, and leadership abilities while preparing to transition into a Foreman role. Progression typically occurs within 3–12 months depending on individual progress and development .
Utility Pole Assessment Foreman: $26.00-$32.00/hour Advance into a leadership position responsible for managing field crews, overseeing daily operations, and driving safety, quality, and productivity expectations. Level program based on experience and performance.

Bonus opportunities for Foreman Apprentice II and Utility Pole Assessment Foreman roles, based on performance.
Foreman Level Program : Based on experience and performance, Foremen are eligible for quarterly pay increases above the $26.00/hour base rate. Advancement is based on performance evaluations conducted at the end of each quarter, reviewing the previous six months of work (minimum of four productive weeks). Foremen who meet and maintain all required performance metrics may progress through five compensation levels, earning up to $6.00/hour in additional conditional pay. Making Foreman pay range $26.00 to $32.00 per hour

$25/day tax-free per diem for qualifying travel assignments (employees must work 60+ miles from home and a minimum of 40 hours per week to qualify).

Position Summary
The Utility Pole Assessment Foreman is responsible for leading daily field operations and supervising a crew performing utility pole assessments, maintenance, and restoration activities. This role requires strong leadership, communication, organization, and the ability to ensure work is completed safely while meeting company and customer expectations.
The Foreman will provide direction to field crews, support employee development, maintain productivity goals, and represent Osmose professionally when interacting with customers, utility representatives, and community members.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and supervise daily field operations and crew activities.
Perform utility pole assessments while following company standards and safety procedures.
Coordinate daily work assignments and ensure projects are completed efficiently.
Train, coach, and mentor crew members in safe work practices and operational procedures.
Ensure compliance with company safety policies and industry requirements.
Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment in safe working conditions.
Complete required documentation, reports, and project updates accurately and timely.
Monitor quality, productivity, and safety performance.
Communicate professionally with customers, utility representatives, landowners, and community members.
Support a positive team environment focused on safety, quality, and accountability.
Qualifications
Must be at least 19 years of age.
Previous leadership, crew lead, or foreman experience preferred.
Valid driver's license with a minimum of three years of driving experience.
Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
Ability to motivate, train, and work effectively with field crews.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to safely operate and maintain company vehicles, equipment, and tools.
Ability to represent the company in a positive and professional manner.
Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Ability to perform physically demanding work, including regularly lifting and moving up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds.
Willingness to travel locally, statewide, or regionally as business needs require.
Physical Requirements
This position requires the ability to:
Regularly stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, and balance.
Frequently reach with hands and arms and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity.
Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
Maintain the mobility and physical capability necessary to safely perform all essential job functions.
Work Environment & Travel Requirements
This position is primarily performed outdoors and may involve exposure to:
Heat, humidity, cold temperatures, freezing conditions, and other weather elements.
Poisonous plants, insects, allergens, and environmental hazards.
Preservatives and coatings used in utility maintenance operations.
Energized electrical equipment requiring adherence to established safety procedures.
Moderate noise levels with occasional exposure to loud environments exceeding 85 decibels.
Travel is expected to exceed 80% and may vary based on customer needs and project locations. Frequent overnight travel Monday through Friday throughout one or more states may be required. Extended workweeks and occasional weekend work may be necessary during peak seasons or special projects.
