Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

Job Description

Job Summary:

Provides high-quality nursing care to emergency department patients across all age groups, from newborns to geriatrics. Ensures timely triage, treatment, and discharge, following clinical protocols and safety standards.

Responsibilities:

• Perform accurate triage assessments and communicate abnormal findings to emergency physicians.
• Review, prioritize, and complete patient orders promptly and accurately.
• Educate patients on medication side effects and discharge instructions to promote safety and understanding.
• Recognize signs of cardiac or respiratory distress and initiate appropriate emergency interventions.
• Administer medications, manage IV therapies, and care for indwelling devices with competence.
• Respond effectively during Code Blue, Code Stroke, Sepsis, and Trauma activations, following established protocols.

Qualifications:

• Hold a current RN license in the state of practice.
• Possess an Associate Degree in Nursing (required) or Bachelor's Degree (preferred).
• Have at least one year of acute care experience.
• Maintain current certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS from approved vendors.
• Complete Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) within 6 months of hire if applicable.
