Ground Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain satellite ground software for telemetry processing, command generation, and uplink workflows.
• Build operator-facing tools, dashboards, automation, and alerting for satellite operations.
• Deploy and operate ground software on AWS and Kubernetes, including CI/CD pipelines, configuration management, and infrastructure as code.
• Integrate ground-station hardware and network interfaces, including radios, routers, and antenna controllers.
• Configure and test GSaaS connections and validate end-to-end data paths across satellites, ground stations, and cloud infrastructure.
• Monitor system and network health, validate software with simulators and test environments, and troubleshoot mission-critical issues.
• Provide 24/7 on-call support for ground systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 3 years of experience developing ground systems software, including services, APIs, and applications.
• Experience deploying and operating software on AWS with Kubernetes and CI/CD systems.
• Strong understanding of networking protocols, routing, VPNs, and secure connectivity.
• Knowledge of satellite ground systems, ground-station networking, antenna interfaces, and RF subsystems.
• Experience with GSaaS providers and with services involving relational or time-series databases and real-time data.
• Familiarity with Linux environments and command-line tools.
• Strong programming and scripting skills; Python and C++ are preferred.
• Experience with DevOps tools and practices, including Git and Docker.
• Experience with multi-satellite constellation operations is a plus.
