Interim Accounting Manager

Our client is seeking an experienced Interim Accounting Manager to provide leadership and hands-on support during a period of transition, growth, ERP implementation, leave coverage, or increased business demand. This role will oversee day-to-day accounting operations, manage the month-end close process, and ensure accurate financial reporting while partnering with leadership on process improvements and special projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
  
• Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial schedules.
  
• Supervise and mentor staff accountants, senior accountants, and accounting support personnel.
  
• Prepare and review monthly financial statements and management reporting packages.
  
• Monitor general ledger activity and ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies.
  
• Analyze financial results, identify variances, and provide recommendations to leadership.
  
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting.
  
• Support internal and external audit requests.
  
• Evaluate existing accounting processes and implement efficiency improvements.
  
• Partner with operational and executive leadership on strategic initiatives and special projects.
  
• Assist with ERP implementations, system upgrades, and accounting process transformations when applicable.
  
• Ensure timely completion of all compliance and reporting requirements.
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  
• Prior Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller, or Senior Accountant leadership experience.
  
• Strong knowledge of:
  
  • General Ledger Accounting
    
  • Financial Reporting
    
  • Month-End Close
    
  • Account Reconciliations
    
  • GAAP
    
  • Budgeting & Forecasting
    
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Dynamics, Sage Intacct, Workday, or similar platforms.
  
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA strongly preferred.
  
• Public accounting experience is a plus.
  
• Experience leading teams through process improvements, acquisitions, system implementations, or organizational change.
  
• Experience supporting private equity-backed, manufacturing, distribution, healthcare, real estate, or professional services organizations.
  

Pay Details: $35.00 to $45.00 per hour
