Maintenance Technician Bridgeport, CT Must-Have Qualifications High School Diploma or GED plus 2 years of trade or technical school training in power plant or mechanical/electrical fundamentals Minimum 5 years of power plant maintenance experience with strong knowledge of plant equipment Experience maintaining mechanical, electrical, electronic, instrumentation, and control systems Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, logic diagrams, blueprints, and technical drawings Experience using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), preferably Maximo Experience working with electrical test equipment and instrumentation systems First Aid and CPR Certification Ability to work in confined spaces, elevated areas, and industrial environments , including lifting up to 75 lbs Willingness to work overtime, emergency call-ins, and outage schedules Position Overview We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to support the maintenance and repair of power plant equipment at a facility in Bridgeport, CT . This role is responsible for maintaining mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems across the plant to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Technician will perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance while supporting plant reliability, safety, and operational performance. Key Responsibilities Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on plant mechanical, electrical, electronic, and instrumentation systems Diagnose and repair equipment malfunctions across plant systems including electrical, mechanical, and controls Maintain and service power plant equipment, instrumentation, and control systems , including Siemens T3000 hardware and software Read and interpret technical drawings, P&IDs, logic diagrams, and blueprints Monitor plant operating parameters such as temperature, pressure, vibration, fluid levels, and equipment runtime Calibrate equipment and troubleshoot plant analyzers and instrumentation systems Complete and document work orders using CMMS (Maximo) Maintain and manage tools, equipment, and maintenance inventory Support storeroom operations , including issuing parts, inventory tracking, shipping, and receiving materials Perform maintenance tasks including machining, welding, pipefitting, tubing work, lubrication, calibration, and alignment Respond to equipment alarms and operational issues , coordinating corrective actions with plant supervisors Operate plant equipment including forklifts, cranes, trucks, scissor lifts, and aerial lifts Assist during planned outages and emergency maintenance events Safety and Compliance Follow all environmental, health, and safety policies and procedures Participate in plant safety programs, meetings, and improvement initiatives Support Process Safety Management (PSM) and Risk Management Program requirements Identify and report safety concerns and take immediate corrective action when unsafe conditions are observed Maintain clean and organized work and shop areas Additional Responsibilities Serve as a technical resource for plant personnel on maintenance and equipment issues Support and supervise contractors working on-site when assigned Assist with facility upkeep , including grounds maintenance such as snow removal and general site care Participate in training programs and operational improvement initiatives What This Opportunity Offers Hands‑on role supporting a power generation facility Opportunity to work with advanced mechanical, electrical, and control systems Collaborative team environment focused on safety, reliability, and operational excellence Long‑term career stability within the power generation and energy industry #J-18808-Ljbffr
