Electrical Controls Engineer
Our client, a well-established manufacturer, is seeking an Electrical Controls Engineer to design and develop control systems for custom machinery and automated equipment .
This is a hands-on engineering role supporting projects from concept and electrical design through programming, testing, and commissioning. Candidates should have experience with electrical controls design, PLC/HMI programming, and industrial automation equipment .
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering field
- Experience designing electrical control systems for machinery or automated equipment
- Experience with PLC and HMI programming
- Experience creating and interpreting electrical schematics
- Knowledge of industrial electrical systems, machine controls, and wiring methods
- Experience with control panel design and component selection
- Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills
- Proficiency with electrical CAD/design software
- Ability to manage multiple projects and engineering priorities
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
What You'll Do
- Design electrical control systems for custom machinery and automation projects
- Develop electrical schematics, control panel layouts, bills of materials, and design documentation
- Program and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, CNC systems, and related controls
- Review customer and project requirements and develop practical engineering solutions
- Participate in concept, design, and final project reviews
- Work with engineering and project teams throughout the equipment development process
- Support equipment testing, system validation, startup, and commissioning
- Troubleshoot electrical and controls-related equipment issues
- Maintain accurate engineering and project documentation
- Support continuous improvement of controls designs and engineering processes
- Provide occasional customer-site or startup support as needed
Preferred Experience
- Custom machinery, machine building, or industrial automation
- Electrical control panel design and integration
- PLC/HMI programming and troubleshooting
- CNC controls or related machine-control systems
- Equipment startup and commissioning
- Manufacturing or automated production equipment
