Controls Engineer

Controls EngineerSpecialty Tooling Systems is seeking a Controls Engineer to help with the design, development, and implementation of automation systems and custom machinery. Essential functions:Design and develop control systems including PLCs, motion control, robotics, vision systems, and HMI/SCADA platformsProgram, integrate, and troubleshoot systems involving Rockwell Automation platforms, robotics, and advanced automation technologiesSupport machine build, debug, and commissioning activities both onsite and at customer facilitiesCollaborate cross-functionally with mechanical engineering, project management, and manufacturing teams to deliver integrated solutionsOwn and deliver assigned controls modules or subsystems within larger projectsStay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices; apply knowledge to improve solutions and processesRequired competency, education, and experience:2+ years of controls engineering experience in automation or custom machineryExperience with:Rockwell Automation (Studio 5000 & FactoryTalk View)Industrial robotics (FANUC preferred)Automated assembly systems and machine integrationTroubleshooting and problem-solving skills in automated systemsCommunication and interpersonal skills, including customer-facing experienceHigh attention to detail and commitment to qualityAbility to maintain confidentiality on sensitive projects2D electrical CAD (AutoCAD Electrical preferred)Valid driver's license; ability to travel as requiredLegally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorshipWork environment: Office setting within a manufacturing environment, with regular interaction on the production floor.
