Strategic Project Lead - Finance

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Strategic Project Lead - Finance based in the United States.

This role offers the opportunity to lead strategic finance projects at the intersection of financial expertise, data, and advanced AI.
You’ll take emerging financial AI use cases from initial scoping and experimentation through validation and operationalization.
The position combines hands-on project leadership with deep exposure to financial data, markets, accounting, and quantitative models.
You’ll help determine how complex financial information can be structured and used effectively for AI model training and evaluation.
Working closely with researchers and global delivery teams, you’ll transform successful pilots into scalable programs with clear workflows and quality standards.

Accountabilities

• Strategic Project Leadership: Lead finance-focused AI pilots and research initiatives from initial scoping through validation and operationalization, ensuring they meet defined standards for financial quality, feasibility, and cost.
• Financial AI Programs: Translate emerging financial AI use cases into structured programs that can support model training, evaluation, and benchmarking.
• Financial Data Strategy: Shape how market data, financial statements, regulatory filings, disclosures, quantitative models, and risk models are selected and applied to AI workflows.
• Data Quality & Fit: Assess financial datasets and information sources to determine whether they are appropriate and fit for specific AI training and evaluation objectives.
• Pilot-to-Scale Execution: Transform successful pilots into scalable operational projects by defining workflows, expert requirements, quality standards, and delivery processes.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with AI researchers, financial experts, and global delivery teams to align customer objectives with technical and operational requirements.
• Project & Workflow Management: Coordinate complex initiatives, manage priorities and dependencies, identify risks, and maintain momentum from concept through execution.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve financial AI workflows, data quality, evaluation processes, and operational scalability as technologies and use cases evolve.

Requirements

• Financial Expertise: Strong professional background in finance, financial engineering, economics, accounting, or a closely related discipline.
• Project Leadership: 2+ years of experience leading complex projects, operational workflows, finance initiatives, or comparable multidisciplinary programs.
• Financial Data Knowledge: Strong understanding of financial data, markets, accounting, financial modeling, or quantitative analysis, with the ability to evaluate whether data is fit for purpose.
• AI & Data Experience: Experience with AI/ML companies, AI research environments, data annotation or evaluation projects is preferred.
• Technical & Data-Intensive Projects: Experience managing finance-focused, technical, or data-intensive projects is an advantage.
• AI Workflow Familiarity: Knowledge of data pipelines, AI training workflows, model evaluation, or human-in-the-loop operations is beneficial.
• Analytical Judgment: Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to translate complex financial concepts into practical project requirements.
• Entrepreneurial Mindset: Comfortable operating in a high-intensity environment, taking ownership, navigating ambiguity, and making decisions with limited structure.
• Communication & Collaboration: Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to work effectively with researchers, financial specialists, and globally distributed delivery teams.
• Adaptability: Able to learn quickly and adjust to rapidly evolving AI capabilities, customer requirements, and project priorities.
