Production Technician

Production Assembler

The Production Assembler works closely with the production team to inspect and assemble optical components and prepare finished products for shipping or inventory. This role involves precise assembly of small parts, basic equipment operation, and careful adherence to work instructions to ensure high-quality output in a clean, organized, and temperature-controlled environment.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and assemble optical components according to detailed work instructions and production standards.
• Assemble parts into appropriate packaging in preparation for shipping or placement into inventory.
• Perform quality checks on in-process and completed parts to ensure they meet specifications and quality requirements.
• Verify quantities for accuracy against the corresponding sales orders before finalizing orders for shipment or storage.
• Operate and maintain light manufacturing equipment safely and efficiently.
• Use basic hand tools and measuring tools, including tape measures, to complete assembly tasks accurately.
• Follow established safety protocols and company procedures at all times.
• Keep the work area clean, organized, and free of debris to support a safe and efficient production flow.
• Collaborate with team members in the production area to meet daily output and quality goals.

Essential Skills

• Previous experience with assembly work, particularly involving small parts.
• Ability to perform small part inspection with strong attention to detail.
• Proficiency using basic hand tools in a production or assembly environment.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions accurately.
• Ability to use a tape measure for accurate measurement and verification.
• Experience working with glass or similar delicate materials.
• Capability to perform basic blueprint or drawing interpretation as needed.
• Strong focus on quality, accuracy, and adherence to established procedures.
• Ability to work a MondayFriday schedule from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., including a 1-hour lunch break.

Work Environment

You work in a clean, temperature-controlled production facility designed for comfort and consistency. The environment is family-oriented, with a dedicated lunch room where you can take breaks and connect with colleagues. The dress code is casual, allowing closed-toe shoes, jeans or shorts, T-shirts, and hoodies, while maintaining a safe and practical attire for production work. The role follows a daytime schedule of 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with a one-hour lunch break. Light manufacturing equipment and standard hand tools are used, and the workplace emphasizes organization, safety, and ongoing performance feedback through annual reviews.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Palatine, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr.
