They have a strong understanding of marketing and have proven capable of leading a creative team to deliver powerful and polished verbal and visual communications. They are effective in providing sound direction that enhances copy and art regardless of their native discipline. They confidently articulate ideas and creative solutions that excites/inspires the agency team, and the client can embrace. They nurture and motivate their team, are passionate about creative and responsive in the face of client feedback. They have excellent management skills and demonstrate leadership qualities and the potential for future growth. They have an inspiring, confidence-building presence and can be relied upon to help manage their teams through rough waters. They have won the trust and respect of their peers and their clients. What You'll DoThe ACD has taken a major step forward in their career and in their level of responsibility within the agency. The role demands an ability to lead teams rather than manage. This entails mentorship (active and passive); inspiring confidence when the team is “up against it” by solving problems before they negatively impact the team or the work. It entails taking the lead when others may want to shrink in times of challenge/adversity. The “big picture” is ever-present in your day-to-day efforts but making sure the team never loses sight of the “details” is also your responsibility. At this level, it is now incumbent upon you to hold the entire team accountable (including yourself) for agency hygiene and creative excellence. Ensuring the health of the agency now influences decisions you will make or recommend.
