.PT Faculty POOL - Women's Basketball Coach

The Orange Coast College Athletics Department seeks an individual to lead the Women’s Basketball team at the community college level. Responsibilities Lead all phases of intercollegiate Women’s Basketball coaching, including recruitment, practice, competitions, enforcement of policies, fundraising and community involvement. Recruit and manage budget, oversee practice/game operations, supervise academics and social media of student-athletes, handle public relations and fundraising. Perform additional duties assigned by the Athletic Director in accordance with conference and district regulations. Drive college vehicles or leased vehicles to and from scheduled contests as needed. Communicate timely with the Sports Information Director. Coordinate with Sports Medicine on care, reporting of incidents and injuries to the relevant campus and district staff. Prepare season summaries and advocate for student athletes’ honors within conference, region and governing bodies. Provide support, encouragement and ensure safety and well-being of student athletes. Maintain professional relationships with athletes, staff, administrators, alumni and the public, including media and public speaking engagements, and develop community support and fundraising efforts. Other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director. Minimum Qualifications Valid California Community College instructor credential issued prior to July 1, 1990; or a Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of related professional experience; or an Associate degree and six (6) years of related professional experience; or a combination of education and experience that is at least equivalent to the above (equivalency application required). Evidence of sensitivity and the ability to create an inclusive classroom environment and effectively teach diverse community college students. Conditions of Employment The position is part‑time, temporary, contingent upon verification of employment history, background checks, eligibility to work in the United States, and approval by the Board of Trustees. Hours will be arranged with the supervisor. Candidates will be retained in the applicant pool for one year and may be called for additional assignments on an as‑needed basis.
