Description

American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist for a Level II Trauma acute care hospital, requiring NBSTSA certification and 3 years of experience.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting within a Level II Trauma Surgical Services department
• 130 staffed beds
• Day shift schedule, 4x10 hours, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM
• Every other weekend required
• 8 call shifts required per month
• Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Trauma, ortho, and neuro case experience preferred
• Scrubs of any color accepted

Requirements

• NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
• BLS certification required (AHA or ARC)
• Minimum of 3 years of experience required
• 1 year of travel experience required
• Trauma Level II experience preferred
• License required if applicable
• Valid CA state license with Nursys verification uploaded within the last 2 weeks, if applicable
• 2 supervisor references obtained within the past year

Additional Information

• Support surgical procedures across multiple specialties including general surgery, orthopedics, neurosurgery, trauma, and more
• Maintain aseptic technique and adhere to isolation precautions and PPE protocols
• Participate in Universal Protocol time-out procedures
• Handle specimen collection and labeling according to protocol
• Practice laser, radiation, and sharps safety standards
• Assist with case cart preparation and instrumentation needs
• Returning staff/travelers must have a separation period of at least 1 year before returning
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract
• Only 1 holiday RTO request permitted per contract
• Holiday coverage includes New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
• Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius at local rate
• Compliance labs must be completed within 3-5 days of contract signing
• 7-year work history verification required for all candidates
