Java Technical Lead

Role Description

We are seeking an experienced Java Technical Lead with strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot Microservices, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), PostgreSQL, and Retail Commerce/eCommerce solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong hands-on technical background along with proven experience leading offshore development teams, collaborating with client stakeholders, and driving technical solutions from requirements through production deployment. This role requires a combination of technical leadership, architecture skills, team management, client communication, and hands-on development expertise in cloud-native enterprise applications.

Qualifications

10+ years of experience in software development with strong hands-on coding expertise.
4+ years of experience leading development teams.
Strong retail domain experience is required.
Experience managing offshore teams and distributed delivery models.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work independently and take ownership of complex technical initiatives.
Experience working in enterprise-scale, high-availability environments.

Requirements

Strong experience with Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices Architecture.
Hands-on experience designing and developing scalable, secure, and high-performance applications.
Strong understanding of REST APIs, distributed systems, and cloud-native application architecture.
Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and cloud-based application development.
Strong experience with PostgreSQL database design, optimization, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies including Docker and Kubernetes.
Strong debugging, problem-solving, and code review capabilities.
Experience with testing frameworks including JUnit, Mockito, and Cucumber.
Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
Understanding of application monitoring, logging, and performance optimization.
Hands-on experience with retail commerce platforms and business processes including Product Catalog, Pricing, Promotions, Shopping Cart, Checkout, and Order Management.
Experience integrating enterprise applications with Loyalty and Rewards platforms, CRM systems, Martech platforms, Payment platforms, and SaaS applications.
Experience delivering solutions in high-volume, customer-facing retail environments.
