About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 18 months of experience required License: Must hold a valid license prior to start date. Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required Must-Have: Solid Neuro experience Experience with mixed acuity units Patient Ratio Experience: MS patients 1:5-6 ratio, PCU patients 1:3-4 Description: Position in a dynamic mixed acuity unit comprised of medical and progressive levels of care. Areas of care include oncology, stroke, cardiac, gastrointestinal, and pulmonary. Will manage patients with cardizem, amiodarone, and insulin drips. Will care for unstable strokes and patients on BiPAP. Nurse to patient ratio for medical patients is 1:5-6 and for PCU patients is 1:3-4. Candidates must be flexible to float within the facility as needed. Candidates should possess skills in accessing and managing ports, administering blood products, and central line care and management. Expertise in managing dysrhythmias, telemetry, and chemotherapy is also required. Candidates will be responsible for monitoring cardiac drips and insulin protocols without titration. This unit encompasses a variety of patient diagnoses, necessitating a broad skill set and adaptability. All candidates must provide two supervisor references prior to consideration.
