REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCEMinimum Qualifications:• Associate of Science degree or completion of a Cardiovascular Technology program orequivalent training.Preferred Qualifications:• Cardiac Cath and/or Interventional RadiologyLICENSES, REGISTRATIONS OR CERTIFICATIONSRequired:• ARRTR and Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist.or• RCIS• BLS / ACLSJOB SUMMARY:Scope:Deliver high-quality patient care and technical expertise in Cardiac Catheterization and Electrophysiologyprocedures. Assist with cardiac, vascular, and interventional procedures, competently performingemergency interventions as needed, while adhering to established standards under the guidance of acredentialed invasive cardiologist or electrophysiologist.Function: Functions may differ based on specialty between radiologic trained technologists andcardiovascular trained technologist.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS• Prepares patient for Cardiac Cath and EP procedures by accurately assessing patient’s needs andproviding patient education.• Monitors and documents hemodynamics and procedural events including moderate sedation perModeration policy and departmental guidelines.• Competent in identifying cardiac rhythms, waveforms and abnormal ranges and takingappropriate intervention• Demonstrates ability to perform different aspects of responsibilities within the department suchas circulator, monitor, scrub and holding area personnel assistant.• Provides for patient safety related to age and condition. Assists with patient restraintsand maintains precautions.
