Read more: careers.bms.com/working-with-us .Position SummaryThe Associate Director, Clinical Pharmacology drives the implementation, planning, and execution of clinical pharmacology activities across assigned projects, operating with a high degree of independence while partnering collaboratively within the function. In this role, the Associate Director leads trial-level activities and supports the development of compounds across relevant therapeutic areas, applying strong Pharmacokinetics/Pharmacodynamics (PK/PD) principles and model-based analyses to inform and advance drug development decisions. The Associate Director works cross-functionally to contribute to and help shape functional development strategies, while also serving as a mentor within the Clinical Pharmacology and Pharmacometrics organization to support the continued growth and development of the team.Key Responsibilities:Independently contribute to the development of compounds across various therapeutic areas with some supervisionProvide input to Phase 2/3 clinical study design and registrational strategy design for the compound with supervisionAccountable for Clinical Pharmacology and Pharmacometrics PlanLead design of Clinical Pharmacology Studies and manages data analysis, interpretation, and reportingHigh proficiency in PK, PK/PD, and model informed drug development (MIDD) principles and analysesCollaborate on cross-functional drug development teams, regulatory submissions, and departmental initiatives; serves as Clinical Pharmacology subject matter expertParticipate in interactions with health authorities; serves as Clinical Pharmacology subject matter expertLead or participate in departmental initiatives; may be involved in external initiatives based on proficiencyProvide expertise based on proficiency to Business Development teamsQualifications & Experience:MS, PhD or PharmD in relevant field5+ years’ experience with demonstrated progression in Clinical Pharmacology and Pharmacometrics knowledge, including experience with general drug development process and small molecule and/or biologic drug property characterizationIn-depth knowledge of current practices and issues in Clinical Pharmacology and PharmacometricsStrong written and oral communication skills necessary to report on and deliver scientific presentationsDemonstrated ability to work in a dynamic team-oriented environmentProvide mentorship and guidance to staff and the CP&P functionSupervise a colleague in CP&P, as neededIndependently serve as the CP&P lead for one or more assets in the BMS drug development programProgramming experience is highly desired (e.g., NONMEM, R, and WinNonlin. Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility) may be available. The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills, where the job is performed, the employee’s work schedule, job-related knowledge, and experience.
