Location: Pennington, New Jersey (Onsite)

Role Overview

This position is for the design, development, and support of high-performance, scalable microservices and event-driven applications. These applications support critical order management and trade processing platforms. The role requires expertise in Java, Spring Boot, SQL, and Kafka to deliver resilient, production-ready solutions for high-volume transaction systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
• Develop and support asynchronous messaging and distributed systems.
• Utilize Git, Maven/Gradle, Jenkins, and CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments.
• Perform debugging and provide production support for enterprise applications.
• Implement resiliency patterns such as circuit breakers, retries, and failover mechanisms.
• Work within an Agile/Scrum delivery methodology.
• Support high-volume financial or trading applications.

Required Qualifications

Experience: 8+ years of hands-on Java development experience.

Technical Skills:

• Strong experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, and Spring Security.
• Strong SQL skills, including complex queries, performance tuning, stored procedures, data modeling, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or CockroachDB.
• Strong knowledge of Apache Kafka, including producers, consumers, partitioning, offset management, error handling, and performance tuning.
• Familiarity with event-driven architecture patterns.
• Knowledge of Enterprise Java with Spring and Hibernate, JavaScript, and REST API.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.
• Experience with Splunk, Dynatrace, or similar monitoring tools.
