To support this effort, we are forming a category-led Go-To-Market organization (StockX Live) that scales with culture, category dynamics, and community expertise.The Category Manager is a foundational hire tasked with owning the growth and strategic trajectory of a major category. You will serve as the chief operator, strategist, and market voice for your category — identifying opportunity, building pipelines, and driving seller and creator engagement from early stages through scale.This role blends strategic planning, deep customer and market understanding, and hands-on execution, with full ownership of category growth outcomes. You will work closely with Partnerships, Marketing, Product, and Operations to define and accelerate the path to liquidity, engagement, and monetization within your category.What You’ll Do:Category Strategy & OwnershipDefine the strategic vision and growth plan for your category on the platformBecome a deep expert on the category’s supply landscape, demand drivers, community channels, and competitive dynamicsEstablish metrics and quarterly goals to measure and drive category performanceSupply & Community AcquisitionBuild a robust pipeline of sellers, creators, influencers, and shops within your categoryDrive outbound outreach, onboarding, and enablement for high-potential sellersCultivate long-term relationships with strategic sellers and community leadersCross-Functional Go-To-Market ExecutionPartner with our Account and Partnerships Managers to scale seller engagement and supportCollaborate with Category Marketing Managers to architect high-impact launches, moments, and campaignsRepresent category needs and insights to Product and Engineering to improve seller tools, features, and platform performanceCategory Performance & AnalyticsUse data to diagnose growth opportunities, identify bottlenecks, and optimize playbooksTrack supply, engagement, retention, and revenue trends and adjust strategies in real timeSurface actionable insights to Growth leadership and cross-functional stakeholdersCulture & Community LeadershipAct as the platform’s representative within your category’s ecosystemEngage deeply with community norms, vernacular, and cultural drivers to inform both strategy and executionChampion creator and seller needs internally to ensure authentic, category-led growthAbout you:Experienced GTM / Growth Operator: 5+ years in business development, partnerships, category management, or marketplace growth roles; experience in consumer platforms or two-sided marketplaces preferredStrategic Thinker + Doer: Comfortable defining vision while executing in ambiguous, fast-moving environmentsRelationship-Driven: Able to build trust quickly with sellers, creators, and internal partnersData Fluent: Makes decisions informed by data and measures what mattersCommunity Minded: Understands cultural nuance, category subcultures, and trends that drive engagementNice to Have:Existing network within the assigned category (e.g., sneaker resellers, influencer communities, boutique shops)Marketplace experience across both supply and demand sidesExperience with creator monetization platforms, community-driven commerce, or enthusiast ecosystemsComfort with CRM tools, sales pipelines, analytics dashboards, and seller performance metricsWhy This Role Matters:As one of the first Category Managers supporting this new commerce initiative, you will:Set the playbook for how categories scale on an emerging platformShape how StockX engages sellers, creators, and communities at scaleBuild the foundation of a repeatable, category-centric GTM / Growth engine that expands into new verticalsThis role is both strategic and entrepreneurial, with meaningful ownership and the opportunity to influence the trajectory of a high-potential new product.Pursuant to the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance, Los Angeles Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring Ordinance, and any other state or local hiring regulations, we will consider for employment any qualified applicant, including those with arrest and conviction records, in a manner consistent with the applicable regulation.Pursuant to the Colorado Fair Pay Act, the base salary range in Colorado for this position is $120,000 to $130,000, plus opportunities for benefits (e.g., medical, dental), equity and discretionary bonuses. Compensation in other geographies may vary.
