Description

American Traveler is hiring an LPN/LVN for a Long Term Care unit, requiring an active Alaska license in hand, prior travel experience, and at least 1 year of LTC experience.

Details

• Long Term Care facility with 40 staffed beds
• Patient ratio of 1:20
• 4x12 hour shifts, either Days (0700-1930) or Nights (1900-0730) with no rotation between shifts except for occasional urgent staffing needs
• Uses ECS charting system
• May be required to float within scope to meet facility needs
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active Alaska LPN/LVN license required in hand at time of submission (license required if applicable)
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• LTC experience required
• BLS certification required
• Previous travel assignment experience required
• Must obtain Alaska Food Worker Certification during onsite orientation (one-time $10 fee)
• Compact license must be in hand at submission

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include patient admission, communication of status changes to RN/MD, isolation precautions/PPE, vital sign monitoring, ambulation, skin and mouth care, blood glucose monitoring, medication administration (oral, IM, SQ, eye/ear drops, NG/G tube), respiratory care (oxygen, nasal cannula, face masks), feeding tube care, and foley catheter insertion
• Scrub color is unrestricted
• Free parking available onsite
• Facility arranges shuttle transportation to and from Anchorage at start and end of contract, plus local shuttle service in Seward
• Traveler's choice of 13 or 26 week assignment length
• No more than 2 weeks of RTO considered for a 26-week contract, and all RTO must be submitted upfront with application
• Must be willing to work at least 2 of 3 major winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's), with preference for flexibility on all holidays
• Not accepting first-time travelers
• Local candidates not accepted; candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility
• Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they live outside the 50-mile radius
• Only one submission allowed to a Providence facility at a time
• Two supervisory references required, covering at least 1 year of employment within the last 3 years
