Compensation: $100k to 120k (DOE)

Our client is a growing multi-channel business operating across e-commerce, wholesale distribution, and a luxury showroom environment. As we continue to scale, we are seeking an experienced Controller to lead our accounting operations, strengthen financial reporting, and provide strategic financial insight to ownership and leadership.

This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who understands the unique challenges of inventory-driven businesses and has hands-on experience managing accounting for e-commerce operations.

Position Summary

The Controller will be responsible for overseeing all accounting and financial operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and supporting the company's continued growth. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in e-commerce accounting, inventory management, and multi-channel sales environments.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting functions including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and Month-End Close

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements

• Manage cash flow, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis

• Ensure accurate inventory accounting, COGS reporting, and inventory reconciliations

• Monitor and improve accounting processes, internal controls, and financial procedures

• Oversee sales tax compliance and reporting

• Coordinate with external CPA firms, auditors, and tax professionals

• Lead month-end and year-end close processes

• Analyze financial performance and provide recommendations to ownership

• Support operational decision-making through financial reporting and KPI analysis

• Manage and mentor accounting staff as needed

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience

• Previous Controller, Assistant Controller, or Senior Accounting leadership experience

• Must have experience with e-commerce accounting

• Strong understanding of inventory accounting and cost accounting

• Experience managing accounting for wholesale, distribution, retail, or inventory-based businesses

• Advanced knowledge of financial reporting and GAAP

• Strong Excel and accounting system experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Shopify, Amazon, Walmart Marketplace, or other e-commerce platforms

• Experience with Odoo ERP or similar ERP systems

• CPA designation preferred but not required

• Experience working in high-growth entrepreneurial businesses

• Multi-entity accounting experience
