The physician will maintain a regular clinical practice while also supporting residents through supervision, mentorship, and participation in selected educational activities.This opportunity is ideal for a physician who enjoys patient care and has an interest in medical education. Prior residency faculty, academic medicine, or formal teaching experience is not required. Recent graduates and physicians who are early in their careers are encouraged to apply.The position supports TFHC’s Patient-Centered Medical Home model and Family Medicine Residency Program, with an emphasis on continuity of care, preventive health, chronic disease management, access, and resident development.Essential ResponsibilitiesClinical PracticeProvide comprehensive outpatient Family Medicine care across the lifespanManage preventive care, acute illness, chronic disease, and routine primary care needsPerform patient histories, physical examinations, clinical assessments, and medical diagnosesOrder, review, and interpret laboratory, imaging, and other diagnostic testingDevelop treatment plans, prescribe medications, and coordinate follow-up careMake appropriate referrals for specialty care and additional treatmentMaintain complete, accurate, and timely electronic health record documentationComplete billing charges and clinical tasks in accordance with organizational requirementsParticipate in care team huddles, peer review, quality improvement, and population health initiativesCollaborate with advanced practice providers, nursing staff, behavioral health professionals, pharmacists, and other members of the interdisciplinary care teamProtect patient privacy, dignity, confidentiality, and safetyComply with HIPAA, HRSA, federal, state, accreditation, and TFHC requirementsResidency Faculty ResponsibilitiesProvide clinical supervision and guidance to Family Medicine residents in the outpatient settingParticipate in resident teaching and case discussionsOffer feedback and mentorship to residents as they develop their clinical skillsParticipate in selected residency meetings and educational activitiesCollaborate with residency leadership and other faculty members as neededQualificationsGraduate of an accredited medical schoolCompletion of an accredited Family Medicine residency programBoard Certified or Board Eligible in Family MedicineActive and unrestricted Florida medical license, or eligibility to obtain oneActive DEA registration, or eligibility to obtain oneCurrent Basic Life Support certificationStrong clinical judgment and communication skillsInterest in teaching, mentoring, and supporting physician learnersCommitment to evidence-based medicine and continuing professional developmentAbility to work effectively with patients from diverse social, cultural, and economic backgroundsAbility to collaborate effectively within an interdisciplinary clinical environmentProficiency with electronic health record systemsNo prior faculty, academic medicine, or formal teaching experience is required.
