US Navy Oceanography Officers (METOC) are geophysical experts who apply meteorology, oceanography, hydrography, bathymetry and related fields to ensure freedom of action for U.S. Navy operations. They lead environmental data collection and analysis, guide operations at sea and ashore, and advance through a career path that includes sea, shore, and advanced education.
